The police said the firm had transferred Rs 1,000 crore from India to Singapore. They said the fraud amount has crossed Rs 2,276 crore, but going by the number of investors, it could be over Rs 14,000 crore.
“The firm has started a Speak Asia Online Shopping web site, claiming the cops are allowing them to continue business. They are lying, to cheat investors. While people are coming forward, most don’t
want to lodge complaints, hoping to get their money back,” said the officer.

पुलिस की आर्थिक अपराध शाखा (ईओडब्ल्यू) को अपनी जांच से यह भी पता चला है कि स्पीक एशिया के कामकाज का केंद्र सिंगापुर नहीं, बल्कि मुंबई ही रहा। उसने औपचारिक रूप से भले ही मुंबई में दफ्तर न खोला हो, लेकिन उसका सारा गोरखधंधा मुंबई से ही चलता रहा है। मंगलवार को बॉम्बे हाईकोर्ट में सुनवाई के दौरान यह बातें सामने आईं। मामले की अगली सुनवाई दो हफ्ते बाद होनी है।
मुंबई पुलिस ने स्पीक एशिया की प्रमुख हरेंदर कौर, भारतीय कामकाज के प्रमुख मनोज कुमार शर्मा, मुख्य मार्केटिंग अधिकारी विवेक गौतम व उभरते बाजारों के अध्यक्ष नारायणन राजगोपालन समेत सात बड़े पदाधिकारियों के खिलाफ रेड कॉर्नर नोटिस जारी कर दिया है। सिंगापुर से कंपनी का संचालन रही हरेंदर कौर फरार बताई जा रही है। मनोज कुमार शर्मा कहीं दुबई में छिपा पड़ा है, जबकि बाकी अन्य अधिकारी भी भागे-भागे फिर रहे हैं। स्पीक एशिया का सीओओ तारक बाजपेयी पहले से ठाणे की जेल में बंद है और जमानत मिलने के बावजूद जेल से बाहर आने को तैयार नहीं है क्योंकि उसे लगता कि दूसरे राज्यों की पुलिस भी उसे गिरफ्तार कर सकती है।
पुलिस की अब तक की जांच से पता चला है कि स्पीक एशिया ने भारत में 24 लाख से ज्यादा लोगों को धोखा दिया है और कुल फ्रॉड 14,000 करोड़ रुपए से ज्यादा का हो सकता है। अभी तक 2276 करोड़ रुपए के फ्रॉड का पता लग चुका है जिसमें से 1000 करोड़ रुपए से ज्यादा की रकम सिंगापुर भेजी जा चुकी है। अदालत की इजाजत से तमाम बैंकों में कंपनी के 60 खाते फ्रीज किए जा चुके हैं। इनमें 150 करोड़ रुपए से ज्यादा जमा हैं।
आर्थिक अपराधा शाखा के अतिरिक्त पुलिस कमिश्नर राजवर्धन के मुताबिक, पुलिस ने कंपनी की दो मर्सिडीज कारें जब्त की हैं जिनकी कीमत 1.30 करोड़ रुपए है। इनमें से एक मनोज कुमार शर्मा की है, जबकि दूसरी एक पैनलिस्ट की है। इस बीच स्पीक एशिया की वेबसाइट 30 जुलाई 2011 से अपडेट नहीं हुई है। इस पोर्टल का टेक्निकल प्रमुख राजीव महरोत्रा, उसका सहयोगी शेख रईस, रवि जनकराज खन्ना व एकाउंटेंट दीपांकर सरकार भी जेल में बंद है
